In Honley we’re working very hard to raise money to install a CCTV system throughout the village.

To raise funds we have the Christmas Lights Switch On with a packed programme of entertainment from community groups to be held on 21st November 2015. Businesses in the area are holding individual fund raisers such as darts matches, coffee mornings, raffles, bingo etc

We need to raise £25k before next Feb 2016 to give us 16 cameras on a 5 year management plan, of which we have already raised £6k and expect to raise another £1k with our Christmas Light Switch on.

It’s not that Honley is an unsafe place to live. It’s not! But as neighboring villages install their own CCTV systems then we could potentially become an easy target and would rather think ahead rather than leave it to chance. We are approaching various local and national organisations eg. Holme Valley Parish Council, West Yorkshire Police, The Big Lottery Fund and Kirklees Council alongside our local businesses so hope for positive responses to get us to our target. Every small amount will make a huge difference to the whole community.

Of course all companies/councils etc donating will get thanks exposure through our HBA Facebook page “What’s Happening in Honley” that has around 1k members, the Honley Flyer that has 3500 distributed house to house in Honley and The Review our local newspaper that has a circulation of over 16500 and are following the story and asking for updates.

If you can think of ways to raise funds or would like to contribute personally then do get in touch.
